You can see it from the bluff. You still have to take the bridge.
Weston is 7.1 miles from the shop in a straight line, and you can stand at the overlook in Weston Bend State Park and look across the water at Fort Leavenworth. None of that helps, because there is no bridge at Weston.
Head south on Route 45, the road that runs under the bluffs past the park entrance. At Beverly, Route 45 meets Route 92. Turn west there, cross the Centennial Bridge, and on the Kansas bank the road becomes K-92, running with US-73 and K-7 as South 4th Street through Leavenworth. Miami Street is off 4th and the shop is in the 400 block. Route 45 also throws a spur northwest toward Leavenworth from East Leavenworth, a little further down; locals call it the Leavenworth cutoff. Either version is two lane river road for most of the way, which in a hailed-out week is a far better problem to have than four lanes of metro.
Weston has been a river town since 1837, when the landing here was one of the busiest on the Missouri. The tobacco barns and the nineteenth century blocks downtown are what is left of that. It is a small town that hosts a lot of visitors, and that combination is the specific reason its hail record reads the way it does.
There is no hail report with Weston's name on it. That is not what it sounds like.
Between 2024 and 2026 the NOAA Storm Events Database contains no hail report logged at Weston. Eight reports fall inside twelve miles of the town, and every single one of them was recorded somewhere else. Before anyone reads that as good news, look at where those eight came from.

An army airfield. A military post. A commercial airport. A county seat. Places with staff on duty, instruments on the roof and a standing reason to file a report. Storm Events is a database of hail that somebody reported, not a map of hail that fell. A town of Weston's size, tucked into the bluffs, generates far fewer reports than the installations around it, and the storms that crossed here on 13 March 2024 and 19 May 2025 got written down four and five miles away under somebody else's place name.
The other thing the list shows is how close the record sits. Four of Weston's eight nearest reports are on the Kansas bank, between four and seven and a half miles out. The same storm that logged an inch and a half at Sherman Army Airfield did not politely stop at the water.
So the practical version, for Weston specifically: your zip code's storm record is the wrong instrument for the question you are asking. There is no hail report for Weston and that tells you nothing at all about your hood. The only way to know is to have the panels read, which is free, and the shop that does it sits on the bank you are looking at from the overlook.
