Hail is a comprehensive claim. That one fact changes how it gets filed, what it costs you, and what it does to your rates. Here is the whole thing in order, from the storm to your keys back, with no part of it left vague.

Your auto policy is not one pot of money. It is several, and hail lands in a specific one.
Hail is comprehensive, in Kansas and in Missouri, on every policy we have ever billed. Comprehensive is optional coverage in both states, though almost everyone financing or leasing a vehicle carries it because the lender requires it. Your declarations page is where you check, and it is also where you find the deductible attached to it. That one number decides most of what follows.
Carriers underwrite the two sides of the policy differently, and for a reason a person can actually follow. An at-fault collision says something about the driver. A hailstorm says something about the weather. So a comprehensive claim does not carry the surcharge logic an at-fault accident does.
Two honest caveats, because "never" would be a lie and you would find that out later. Claim frequency is what carriers actually watch, so one storm claim reads very differently from three comprehensive claims in eighteen months. And after a major storm, carriers often adjust rates across a whole region whether or not you personally filed. Skipping a claim you are entitled to does not usually buy the protection people hope it buys.
The question is not "will this cost me on renewal." It is "does the repair exceed my deductible by enough to be worth a claim on my record." Those are very different questions, and only one of them needs a real number to answer.
An adjuster is not trying to catch you out. They are trying to close a file, and a file closes fast when everything in it is verifiable. Five things do that.
The fourth and fifth are the ones most people arrive without, and they are the two that decide the number. Photos taken in a driveway at midday are almost worthless for hail, because straight-on light hides dents that raking light makes obvious. This is exactly the gap the scan closes.
We drive your car through the Argus scanner, once. Every panel is captured with 100% accurate, insurance-grade documentation: where each dent is, how wide, how deep, how many. Your estimate is written from that map while you wait, and the same file is what goes to your carrier.
It matters at two moments. When the estimate is first reviewed, because a documented count is a harder thing to trim than an opinion. And mid-repair when a supplement comes up, because the answer is already in the file. The mechanics of the machine are on the 3D hail scan page.
What we will never tell you is what your carrier is going to approve. Nobody honest can promise that. The scan makes sure the damage on record is the damage on the car, which is the part of it we actually control.
Six steps, and you are only responsible for the first two.
Drive in at 426 Miami St. The scan is free, takes minutes, and puts a real number in your hand before you commit to anything.
If the number is worth claiming, you call your carrier and open it. We can walk you through what to say.
The documented estimate goes to your carrier and we deal with the adjuster from there.
Once it is approved we book the repair and tell you the exact window before we take your keys.
Most repairs finish in 2 to 7 days. You drive a free loaner in the meantime, no daily rate, no mileage cap.
Not you. Supplements, if the repair turns up more than the first pass showed, are handled the same way.
It means the money never has to move through your account. We send the estimate to your carrier, negotiate the file with the adjuster, and invoice them when the work is done. You are not fronting several thousand dollars and waiting on a cheque, and you are not chasing anybody for it either.
It also means you have somebody on your side of the file who does this every week. A supplement mid-repair is normal, not a fight, as long as the original documentation was good enough to point at.
$0 out of pocket on most claims. Most carriers waive the deductible on paintless repair, because a paintless file runs light on supplements and finishes cheaper than replace and respray, so waiving it still costs them less overall. That is why the offer exists, and it is why we can make it without a catch.
If your carrier is one that does not waive it, you hear the exact number from us before any work starts, not after. And a general note worth carrying beyond this page: your deductible is part of your contract with your carrier, so treat any promise that it can simply be made to disappear with care, wherever you hear it.
Insurance billed direct. We handle the claim and the adjuster. $0 out of pocket on most claims.
Lifetime warranty, in writing. Every repaired panel, transferable to the next owner.
Free loaner. No daily rate, no mileage cap. Swap keys and drive home.
2 to 7 days on most repairs. Exact timeline at the scan, before we take your keys.
This metro straddles a state line and a lot of people cross it twice a day, so the question comes up constantly: does it matter which side the car is plated on, insured in, or was parked on when the storm came through?
Practically, no. Coverage follows your policy, not your plates. A car insured in Missouri and hailed on in Kansas is repaired the same way, with the same paperwork, on the same comprehensive coverage. We are a Kansas shop that repairs Missouri cars every week, and it changes nothing about the process.
Two things that are the same in both states and worth knowing anyway:
Fort Leavenworth families, the same answer applies to a PCS move. Coverage follows your policy, not the state it was written in, and a car insured somewhere else and parked here is handled the same way. If you are on a timeline, say so at the scan so we can build the schedule around it.
Plenty of people are not, and that is a reasonable place to be standing. The honest test is arithmetic: does the repair exceed your deductible by enough to be worth putting a claim on your record. A $6,000 repair against a $500 deductible is not a close call. A $700 repair against a $500 deductible probably is not worth it.
The problem is that you cannot run that arithmetic by looking at the hood in your driveway. So get the vehicle documented first. The scan is free, it carries no obligation, and if the number comes back close to your deductible we will tell you plainly and you can walk away with the paperwork and no claim on your record.
When you are ready, the free estimate takes about two minutes, the shop and its home city are on the Leavenworth hail repair page, the business itself is on the about page, and the short version of all of it lives on the home page.

Comprehensive. Collision covers hitting another vehicle or an object. Comprehensive covers weather, theft, fire, vandalism and falling objects, which is where hail lands. If you carry liability only, hail damage to your own vehicle is not covered at all. Your declarations page tells you which you have and what the deductible is.
Not the way an at-fault claim does. Hail is filed under comprehensive, so it is not an at-fault loss and is not rated like one. Two honest caveats. Claim frequency matters more than any single claim, and after a major storm carriers often adjust rates across a whole region whether or not you filed. Your agent can tell you how your specific policy handles it.
No. Your carrier can recommend a shop from its network. It cannot make you use one. Choosing your own shop does not void your claim, reduce your coverage or affect the warranty you get from us.
$0 out of pocket on most claims. Most carriers waive the deductible on paintless repair, because a paintless file runs light on supplements and finishes cheaper than replace and respray. If your carrier does not waive it, you get the exact number before any work starts, not after.
The date and place the storm hit you, your policy number, the vehicle and its mileage, and documentation of the damage panel by panel. The last one is the part most people arrive without, and it is the part that decides the number. We produce it with the scan and send it in for you.
Policies vary, and most require prompt notice rather than naming one deadline. Some carriers measure a window from the storm date. Do not sit on it. Get the vehicle documented quickly even if you have not decided whether to repair, because documentation gets harder to tie to a storm the longer you wait.
Yes. We send the documented estimate to your carrier, deal with the adjuster, handle supplements if the repair turns up more than the first pass showed, and invoice the carrier direct. You are not fronting the repair and waiting on a cheque.
Get the vehicle documented first, then decide. The scan is free and carries no obligation to file. If the repair lands near your deductible we will tell you, and you can walk away with the paperwork and no claim on your record.
Every dent on record, your claim built on hard data, insurance handled. You drive out with your estimate the same visit.
